Our Fundraising Approach

The Great Canadian Flag Project Fund is an endowment fund with WindsorEssex Community Foundation. An endowment fund is a charitable fund through the community foundation where you have an opportunity to benefit the community forever. All future earning from your gift is a permanent source of community capital, helping do good work today and in the future. This project helps build the vision of the community foundation by supporting a local project and bringing community partners together in Windsor-Essex county area.

The WindsorEssex Community Foundation (WECF) is a perpetual community trust that manages donated funds, makes grants to support community programs, and facilitates working relationships between community organizations. As one of Canada's 191 community foundations, your WindsorEssex Community Foundation helps citizens invest in building strong, vibrant and resilient communities. Since 1983 the Community Foundation has granted $5.3 million dollars to organizations who are helping to make Windsor-Essex a better place to live, work, play and grow.
